Hello and welcome to Pladda Cottage

Pladda is a cosy, single storey (no stairs), 2 bedroom self catering cottage set in a stunning peaceful cliff top location just outside Kildonan, close to the seal colony, and Eas mor for forest walks and the amazing Forest of the Falls cafe. With sea and rural views from the garden areas, and having been beautifully renovated to provide contemporary, stylish accommodation (with luxury touches), it really is the perfect place for your holiday in Scotland.  It’s dog friendly (no extra charge), on the 323 bus route and local welcome goodies are also provided.  Saturday is the usual changeover day for weekly stays, with short breaks available during the off peak season.  Check in from 3.30pm, check out before 10am and parking is outside the cottage.  Our rates are Short breaks £305 – £475, and Weekly stays £495 – £795.

The extensive lawned garden area has seating where you could be sitting, enjoying the stunning sea views across to Kildonan, Pladda island and North Ayrshire.  Perfect for star gazing at night.

The open plan area has been designed and equipped with high quality easy living and the relaxation of our guests in mind.  Including new electric radiators which you can adjust, artificial wood burner and high speed Fibre broadband (WIFI).

New full equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.


The fully equipped kitchen has a full size fridge (including drinks rack), full size freezer, Bosch dishwasher, Bosch washer/dryer microwave and an induction hob with an electric oven.  We’ve also included a slow cooker, sushi maker and electric hand blender.

Dining Area

Comfortable seating for 4 guests is provided, with views onto the courtyard setting.  The dining table and coat rack were custom made using solid sustainable timber, and binoculars have been left above the coat rack for guests to use during their stay.  Thermal curtains have been added to keep our guests extra cosy during the cooler months.

Lounge area with 2 sofas, and furniture made from reclaimed and sustainable wood.


Books, DVDs, television with a Freesat box (enabling access to BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub, and Netflix and Amazon Prime if you have a subscription), and board games are provided for our guests’ enjoyment, as well as lots of local information to read.  All the wooden furniture was custom made using solid sustainable or reclaimed wood.

A large relaxing bath, electric power shower, demister mirror, wide heated towel radiator, grab rail and eco-friendly refillable luxury Arran Sense of Scotland (Arran Aromatics) toiletries await our guests.
